Lucknow Super Giants Shine Against Gujarat Titans

Ahmedabad, Gujarat - On May 23, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance against the Gujarat Titans (GT) during their recent Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Pant noted that even though they did not secure a spot in the IPL playoffs, the team demonstrated their capability to play quality cricket. He stressed the significance of learning from experiences and improving, while also praising the batting unit's contributions, especially highlighting Shahrukh's impactful performance, and addressing some fielding errors.

Outstanding bowling from LSG's William O'Rourke and Akash Singh Maharaj propelled Lucknow to a decisive 33-run victory over Gujarat Titans in the ongoing IPL.

"I am definitely pleased. As a team, we have shown that we can play well. There was a moment in the tournament when we had a chance to qualify, but that’s part of the game. We must learn and improve. While aiming for the top three is always a goal, Shahrukh's batting gives us hope for the lower order. We faced injury concerns entering the tournament, but Mitch, Markram, and Pooran, along with the entire batting unit, performed admirably. We did have some fielding lapses, which we need to learn from and move forward," Pant stated during the post-match presentation.

Pant scored 16 runs off just 6 balls, hitting Rabada for two sixes prior to this match. Throughout 12 appearances, he managed to accumulate 135 runs at a disappointing average of 12.27, with a strike rate barely reaching 100.

In a challenging season, Pant's standout performance came against the struggling Chennai Super Kings, where he scored 63 runs off 49 balls.

Following this defeat, GT remains at the top of the IPL points table with 9 wins and 4 losses from 13 matches, totaling 18 points. Conversely, LSG is positioned sixth with 6 victories and 7 defeats in their 13 matches, accumulating 12 points.
